What 2 Read? Don’t just sit there. Check out Ephesians 6:7, 8.

What 2 Do? Think of two things you can do today to serve people. When you’re doing them remind yourself, God is my biggest and ultimate audience.

What 2 Read? Grab the nearest Bible and spend seven minutes checking out Psalm 100. It may be short, but it’s got a huge message for you today.

What 2 Do? Think of 5 things that you’re grateful for that start with the first letter of your name. (Our apologies to all of the Quinton’s & Zama are out there.) What are the three biggest things in your life that you are thankful to God for?

Hope to C Ya There!

Jan (Emmanuel Youth inC.)

What 2 Read? Dive into Hebrews 4:14-16, then check this out.

What 2 Think? Jesus was a lot like you in lots of ways. What is one way Hebrews 4:14-16 says that He was different? In 3 words, describe how God wants us to come to Him? What does God give us in our time of need?

What 2 Do? How do you normally approach God? Choose the ones that apply.

  1. Winning, thinking that will cause Him to do exactly what I want.
  2. Shaking in fear. This is God, you know.
  3. Trying to manipulate Him with all sorts of promises, such as “God, if you help me with this science test, I’ll read my Bible every day for the next week.”
  4. Walking up to Him with confidence. After all, He’s not going to do anything bad or nasty to me. He just wants to spend time with me & help me out.

How does God want you to approach Him?

What is one area of your life that you can approach Him with confidence, knowing that He is a good & gracious God who wants to help?

What 2 Read: If you have a problem you need help with, you’ll love 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

What 2 Do: Think of an area in your life where you feel the weakest. It may be doing homework, getting along with a co-worker or keeping up with everybody else… Ask God right now to help you to rely on His grace for strength. He will come through for you.

Theme: Our Need: Grace

Welcoming / Moving In:

Jan opened the meeting with a game called ‘Ken Jy Die Song?’ This game helped the youth to understand the difference between a gift & a reward. Everyone received a prize to illustrate the point of grace. We had two new visitors, Linde Munyai & Edna Prinsloo. Each of them received a free mp3 CD.

Worship:

Japie and the team did a short play to illustrate ‘Why We Worship?’ The point was well ‘played’. We repeated this play due to some of the youth who were at the Inter-high last week.

Moving Up:

In this step Jan showed the youth that our salvation is not something that we earn, but something that God gives us.  Our key scripture was Ephesians 2:8.

Feedback:

Jean-Claude’s group said, ‘Groepies het Excellent gewerk. Djan sê dat,  daar kan niks verbeter, dit was Awesome!’ Nicholas of Ernie’s group said, ‘Today I got the chance to see how the Lord has blessed us with grace… ’ Letitia’s group said, ‘AWESOME! Dit was AWESOME! Dit was GREAT verby. Die beste nog!’ Linde of Sheryl’s group said, ‘Dit was baie lekker. Ek het nuwe dinge geleer van God en nuwe vriende gemaak (want dit was my eerste keer). Dit was vol pret.’

What 2 Read? Check out Isaiah 30:18 & get a glimpse of how God sees you.

What 2 Do? You’re trying new things & you may or may not make it. But God’s right near you, waiting to run in in, pick you up & hold & comfort you. Well maybe not literally, but you can know His grace & compassion are all around you whenever you need them, including today. What do you need God’s encouragement about today? Talk to Him about what’s bugging you.
